Rare Disease Day

Rare Disease Day is a day to acknowledge diseases like Birdshot Uveitis. Birdshot Uveitis is an “orphan disease” that affects a small percentage of the population. In some part of the world, the term orphan disease describes a rare disease whose rarity results in little or no funding or no funding for research for treatments. Celebrate #rarediseaseday by helping fund research. Press the Donate Now button and make a difference.

In commemorating Rare Disease Day 2024 on February 29th, the rarest day of the year, Birdshot Uveitis Society of North America will be featuring diagnosis stories of birdies throughout the month. Read Show Your Stripes on Rare Disease Day to learn more about our rare disease, birdshot uveitis.

Make sure to check our blog regularly for featured stories about Birdshot patients.

Walktober

Join us in the month of October for the second annual BUSNA WALKTOBER event!

WALKTOBER is our campaign to encourage us to walk more. This is a free event and no registration is needed. To make it even more enticing, BUSNA is offering random weekly prizes for participants, regardless of distances completed. In order to qualify for the grand prize of an anonymously donated Fitbit Watch, participants must submit their distance throughout all 4 weeks.

Lace up your shoes and walk, jog, run! Add up your weekly totals, go to our BUSNA Facebook page, tap Message, and send us your distance for that week. If you are not on Facebook, simply send an email every Sunday to christine.griffith@busna.org
