Every year, Rare Disease Day is observed on the last day of February to raise awareness for the over 300 million people worldwide living with rare diseases—like birdshot uveitis. It is a rare, sight-threatening eye disease, believed to be of autoimmune origin. Birdshot often goes undiagnosed or misunderstood, making awareness efforts like this even more crucial.
Birdshot Uveitis Society of North America (BUSNA), is excited to share several “patient story” blogs in the month of February. These blogs highlight each unique birdshot patient journey for Rare Disease Day.
Today is about amplifying voices, sharing stories, and standing together as a strong and supportive community.
