Thriving With Birdshot

We all have an Inner Artist longing to come out and create. Did you know that the arts can help us manage our chronic illness? On Sunday, November 9, spend time with your BUSNA birdshot friends and special guest Christina Wright. Awaken your creativity!

In recent years, there has been an increased interest and growing body of scientific research that proves the efficacy of the arts in promoting and managing physical and mental health.

Christina is a trained Social Emotional Arts Facilitator through the Arts & Healing Initiative and will be presenting evidence-based creative strategies. She will engage participants in the practical use of transformative art modalities for creative expression. Practicing the arts in our everyday lives can cultivate social emotional learning and holistic wellness. It also has the potential to build character values, awaken purpose and develop leadership skills that empower individual and societal change.

Christina Wright is an Educator in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA. She is currently a Professor of Film Studies at San Jose State University and De Anza College and Online Faculty in Arts & Media for the Wilmette Institute.

Christina will also be presenting three in-depth arts workshops for BUSNA in January of 2026, so keep an eye out for these additional events.

In the meantime, be sure and register for her presentation and workshops on November 9!

Registration information will follow.
